THE MESSAGE ("we", "our", "us") operates the mobile application THE MESSAGE
(Android package: com.nexa.message; iOS bundle ID: com.nexa.message).
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use our app.
By using the app, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, display name, and authentication provider (email or Google Sign-In) when you register or sign in.
- App activity: language preference, Bible reading progress, notes, bookmarks, highlights, course enrollment, prayer participation, and message access history stored on your device or linked to your account.
- Community content: if you post in the community feature, we collect the text, photos, or videos you choose to upload, along with your display name and post metadata.
- Subscription and payments: subscription status, purchase records, and referral information. Payment card details are processed by third parties (Google Play, Apple App Store, Stripe, or RevenueCat) and are not stored by us directly.
- Technical data: device type, operating system, app version, and limited diagnostic data needed to keep the service secure and reliable.
How we use information
We use your information to:
- Provide daily messages, Bible tools, audio, courses, and community features
- Manage subscriptions, referrals, and customer support
- Sync your progress and preferences across sessions
- Improve security, stability, and app performance
We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
We use trusted providers that may process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, and file storage
- Google Sign-In — optional account login
- Google Play / Apple App Store — in-app purchases where applicable
- Stripe and RevenueCat — subscription billing where enabled

Data storage and retention
Account and synced content may be stored in Firebase (Google Cloud). Some data is cached locally on your device for offline access. We retain information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service and comply with legal obligations.

- Update language and app settings inside the app
- Sign out of your account at any time
- Manage subscriptions through Google Play, the App Store, or the Stripe customer portal
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your account data
To request account deletion or ask privacy questions, contact us at support@message-app.com from the email address you used to register.
Children's privacy
THE MESSAGE is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard data handled through our app and service providers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
